Awards and tributes
To honour and distinguish the best engineering talents of a year for their accomplishments is a long-standing tradition at ZPP. In late November, two events at the Ruhr-University Bochum, namely the scholarship celebration and the academic annual celebration at the Faculty of Construction and Environmental Engineering, offered the festive scope for this, in quick succession.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ludger Speier awarded the Germany scholarship to Felix Cleve, our scholarship holder for the year 2017/2018. He thereby ranks among the total of 293 scholars – more than ever before.
The Professor Zerna-Awards were awarded by Dr.-Ing. Dieter Lehnen to:
Miss Tanja Graef
for the best Bachelor thesis titled "Examinations and evaluation of the dome hall, the lobby and the garden halls at Castle Benrath in Dusseldorf regarding room acoustics-based parameters."
Miss Julia Reddel
for the best Master thesis titled "Analytical examination of replacement imperfections"
and – due to the fact that there are two laureates in the "Master" category this year – to
Mister Philipp Reimann
for the best Master thesis titled "Development parametrised simulation models for numerical analysis of contorted support structures made from high-performance concrete for collector modules parabolic troughs with big aperture widths".
Mister Dr.-Ing. David Sanio
for the best doctorate titled "Accuracy of monitoring-based lifetime projections of concrete bridges at prestressing steel fatigue".
Congratulations!
