Bochum University of Applied Sciences
The higher education landscape in Northrhine-Westphalia is currently being comprehensively modernised by the Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb NRW. Among others, this encompasses the new construction of the seminar building for the departments of architecture and civil engineering, which will be built west of the –BlueBox- in the area of the Bochum University of Applied Sciences on the Lennershofstraße.
The 55 m long, six-storey building with a total of 22 seminar rooms and an atrium with an open, staggered staircase, which extends from the ground floor up to the 5th storey as a foyer, is being structurally verified by ZPP.
The new construction offers the possibility to present both the University of Applied Sciences and the two departments with their claims for sustainability and quality construction in an exemplary and public way. The new construction is to be utilised as a teaching tool and research object, apart from its function as an office and seminar building.
