Professor Zerna-Award 2016 presented
At the beginning of December, during the academic annual celebration of the Department of civil and environmental engineering at the Ruhr-University Bochum, the Professor Zerna-Award was presented to three young engineers by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ludger Speier.
As in years past, the award is presented to young people for their study and scientific performances, in honour and fond memory of Prof. Zerna.
The Professor Zerna-Award was presented to:
Ms Lisa Pieper
for the best Bachelor thesis, entitled "Numeric observations of the load-bearing behaviour of geosynthetically reinforced supporting structures as bridge abutment"
Mr Georgios Gaganelis
for the best Master thesis, entitled "Topological structure optimisation considering material-specific tension restrictions"
Mr Dr.-Ing. Khayal Musayev
for the best doctorate, entitled „Seismic Reconnaissance in a Tunnel Environment using Full Waveform Inversion”
