Railway museum Bochum
The currently biggest, private railway museum in Germany, located in Bochum, not only preserves an authentic part of railway, industry and regional history from decay, but also offers the possibility to experience the Ruhr area’s history for about 50.000 to 70.000 visitors annually.
In order to let future generations know more about the steam engine era, the former train yard is modernised and expanded upon carefully and fully in accordance with the historic preservation.
In a engineering association together with ISW Ingenieur GmbH - Schmidt & Willmes, ZPP was commissioned with the order of the museum new construction of the reception area with modern and internationally appropriate standards, including the nowadays established museum infrastructure with a shop, seminar and exhibition rooms and a gastronomic service.
