Bridge Grothus Street
Structural stability survey after brunt damage
The Grothus Street in Gelsenkirchen is led over the Rhine-Herne sewer with a steel bridge that sports a two-track superstructure for each driving direction. The supporting width amounts to approx. 58 m.
One main girder of the north-eastern superstructure was damages by a ship brunt.
ZPP calculated and verified the structural stability of the damages structure with help of the documents, then planned the required measures for the reinstatement.
By way of the deepened, theoretical survey, interference to the traffic could be avoided, while an economic solution for the redevelopment could be processed.
