Creation of a snow clearance concept for the roof areas

The KVB (Cologne public transport company) operates the inner-city bus lines and the city rail Cologne. In the trainyard workshops of the KVB, the vehicles are serviced, cleaned and prepared for the next deployment. The bigger repairs, general inspections and also conversions are processed in the main workshops.

In order to ensure a smooth workflow in the trainyards, even in the winter, with snowfall, ZPP was commissioned to create concepts for the snow clearance of the roof areas. Hereby, we had to take the differently processed roof construction of the train yards and the main workshop into consideration, as well as the light belts and lightning protection installations.

Our services encompassed:
_Inspection of the delivered documents (static / plans)
_Keeping acocunt of the static proof for the inquiry of the allowed snow burden on the basis of the currently valid norms
_Revision of the report for the preliminary snow concept
_Revision of the work label for the snow clearance

The processed conception, as commissioned to ZPP by the KVB, makes a point with regard to the order of the clearance and possible walkways in case of snow burdens on the roofs of the train yards and the main workshop.
